Soccer Icon Lionel Messi and other Inter Miami starters are likely to play against Orlando City SC in final preseason match!

Inter Miami CF coach Javier Mascherano ended months of speculation yesterday by confirming that Lionel Messi is set to take the field against the Orlando City Soccer Club as Inter Miami CF will complete their preseason tour on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. from Raymond James Stadium.

Mascherano said that he aims for all of Inter Miami’s players, including Messi, to get “as many minutes as possible.” Inter Miami CF takes on Kansas City next week. “It’s important the players arrive at the game in Kansas City in rhythm,” Mascherano said.

“Since the moment this match was announced, there was a lot of doubt around whether Messi would play and we always remained confident that he would be taking the field,” said Rob Higgins, Executive Director, Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “Very few people get an opportunity to be in the stands to see the see the greatest player of all time in their sport play and it’s happening right here in our hometown this Friday.”

The match is also anticipated to feature the likes of superstars Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Drake Callender (Inter Miami CF), as well as Pedro Gallese and Ivan Angulo and Martin Ojeda (OCSC).
